About us

SOUTHEND PICTURESとは？

  • 私たちは日本の南端沖縄で、その風土、歴史、ひとを主役とする映画を作ります。
  • メンバーそれぞれが映画制作以外の生業を持つことで、映画に経済的に依存することなく、妥協のない作品作りを目指します。
  • メンバーはベテラン、新人の隔てなく対等な立場で撮影現場につどい、映画撮影に没頭します。
  • 商品であって作品でもあるという映画の持つ二面性をつねに意識して撮影に挑みます。
  • そして、なにより、みなで映画造りを楽しみます。
  • We make a movie about the climate, history, and people in Okinawa, the southernmost part of Japan.
  • Each member has a livelihood other than filmmaking. By doing so, we aim to create works without compromise, without relying economically on movies.
  • Our members are on an equal footing with veterans and newcomers, and are devoted to filming.
  • I always keep in mind the duality of movies, which are both commercial products and works of art, and take on the challenge of shooting.
  • And above all, we all enjoy making movies.

中川陽介プロフィール

映画監督。SOUTHEND PICTURES主宰。沖縄を舞台にした数々の作品を世に送り出し、世界各地の映画祭に招待、上映される。

2009年に糸満市に移住し農業を開始。

小説家としても活躍しており、沖縄を舞台とする作品群で「おきなわ文学賞 理事長賞」や「第44回新沖縄文学賞」、「第69回地上文学賞」を受賞。

Yosuke Nakagawa is a film director and the founder of SOUTHEND PICTURES. He has released numerous films set in Okinawa and has been invited and screened at film festivals around the world.

In 2009, he moved to Itoman City and started farming.

He is also active as a novelist, and won the “Okinawa Literary Award Chairman’s Award” and the “44th New Okinawa Literary Award” for his works set in Okinawa.
